698,059. Dispensing liquids. TURNER, W. May 28, 1952 [May 28, 1951]. No. 12498/51. Class 116. Fluid dispensing apparatus with automatically retractable hose has the hose normally enclosed within the tower and released through an aperture in a wall by opening a door in the wall, the shutting edge of the door when closed forming one edge of the aperture and anti-friction surfaces being provided on the wall and door for the hose. As shown the loop of hose 13 passes round a fixed pulley 21 and a movable pulley 23. By opening a door 19 in a side wall of the tower the hose can be withdrawn and inserted in an aperture 14 in the wall ready for dispensing. The hose passes between rollers 36-38 on the wall and a roller 39 on the shutting edge of the door. The pulley 21 is mounted on a bracket 22 mounted in a recess in a wall 16 having curved corners 17. The lower pulley 23 is mounted on a bracket 24, sliding on an upright 25 extending the length of the column. Springs 40 and 41 on the upright act as buffers at the limits of movement of the pulley 23. A number of loops of hose may pass round separate pulleys. The upper pulley support has a flange 28 to support the loop from the fluid supply line 11. The fluid may be water, fuel or oil. An air pipe line as described in Specification 660,871 may also be incorporated with a pressure gauge 42.
