A container into which a golf ball can be inserted for cleaning is secured to the wheel of a golf-club trolley so that the ball is cleaned by movement of the trolley. As shown, the axle cap 6 is a friction fit in the wheel 10 and has a screw 7 on which is fitted a rubber container 1 the outer wall of which is formed with an insertion opening 2 bounded by slitted parts 3 to allow insertion of the ball. A water absorbent cleaning pad 4 is provided. In modifications, the parts 6, 10 may be joined by a bayonet coupling ; the container may be fixed to a disc wheel either by rivets, bolts or split-pins or by suckers ; the container may be fixed to a spoked wheel by springs which have end hooks ; the container may be polygonal; the cleaning material may be integral with the container or may cover the inner surfaces of the inner and outer walls as well as the periphery or may be made abrasive as by serrations or projections ; the material may be woven, bristles, matting or rubber ; the container may be of metal having a slotted resilient annulus round the insertion opening ; the rubber container may be reinforced by metal ; the container may be fixed to the other parts of the trolley : the cleaning material may be movable with respect to the container.
