695,247. Spectacle frames. LAAR, M. J. VAN DE, and VLIET, T. T. VAN DER. June 15, 1951 [June 15, 1950], No. 14189/51. Class 97 (i). A spectacle frame comprises eye-rims 1 of celluloid or other plastic material having longi. tudinal bores in their upper edges 1a through which pass a metal rod 3 to the ends of which are hinged ear-hooks 6, and which is shaped to form a bridge 4. The rims may be initially formed to the shape shown in Fig. 3, the bores being formed by heating the material and driving through it a pin 9 which is preferably profiled, for example is of square cross-section. The bow 3 is then threaded through the bores of two rims which are then shaped to the curved shape shown in Fig. 1.
