Abstract

Amides, of pharmaceutical value, are obtained by reacting anhydrides derived from aminoacids or peptides and carboxylic acids, with ammonia or amino compounds, with the exception of aminoacids and peptides or their esters, by addition of the calculated quantities of the base. The amino groups not taking part in the reaction are protected. Examples are given of the production of phthalylglycinecarbobenzoxycystine, phthalylglcylglycine, carbobenzoxyglycylglycine anilides, of p carbobenzoxycystine and carbobenzoxy-diglycinediethyl amides and of carbobenzoxyglycyl-p aminobenzoic acid.
