Abstract

A disinfectant composition, especially for glass, porcelain, stoneware, wood, metal, synthetic material and the like consists of an aqueous solution having a concentration of 0.01 to 1 per cent by weight of a salt of an organic or inorganic acid of a compound of general formula: R1.NH.(C2H4NH)n.R2.COOH wherein R1 denotes an aliphatic acyl or alkyl group of 12 to 18 C-atoms; n=1, 2 or 3; and R2 denotes a bridge radical which is aliphatic, aromatic or a mixed aliphatic-aromatic radical. Specified salts are the hydrochloride, acetate and lactate; amino acids are lauroyl- or dodecyl-diethylenetriaminoacetic acid, lauroyltriethylenetetraminopropionic acid, cetyl-triethylenetetraminobenzoic acid, tetradecylaminoethylaminosalicylic acid, tetradecylaminoethylaminomethylenesalicylic acid, and others referred to in the examples by their formul .
