Abstract

692,241. Rudder position indicators. BJORNSTAD, E. Oct. 25, 1951. [May 22, 1951] No. 24941/51. Class 114. Apparatus for indicating the position of a rudder comprises across-coil device 1 controlled by an adjustable resistance 4 operated by the turning movement of the rudder stack 5, Fig. 2, through a transmission shaft 6 connected thereto and disposed co-axially therewith. The stock and transmission shaft are connected by an elastic coupling 8 and the shaft is connected through toothed gearing 9, 10 with a rotary switch 13 whose contacts co-operate with tappings on the resistance 4. The number of tappings correspond with the number of degree divisions on the scale 3.
