Abstract

689,209. Parachutes. FRIEDER, L. P. Oct. 19, 1950. No. 25483/50. Class 4. A parachute comprises an unperforated canopy of substantially hemispherical shape with a crown section A of uniform porosity completely enclosing the apex, a bottom zone D of uniform porosity adjacent the hem, and an intermediate zone C also of uniform porosity but of substantially greater porosity than the sections A and D. As shown the intermediate section C is formed from a single layer of fabric and the crown section A of two superimposed layers connected together only along the seam 63, while the bottom section D is formed from fabric having little or no porosity. Specifications 565,493, 620,731, 663,075 and U.S.A. Specification 2,478,758, are referred to.
