688,058. Windscreen cleaners. DUDLEY, W. Aug. 13, 1951 [Sept. 1, 1950], No. 21605/50. Class 138 (i). A windscreen wiper unit comprises a gear box 1, electric motor 2 fixed to one side of the box 1, and two studs 3 or like fastening members rigidly fixed to the wall of the box 1 and passing through the -top frame 4 of the windscreen, wherein a fixed screwed stud 5 projects from the wall of the gear box, below and intermediate the studs 3 and a screwed sleeve 6 carrying a resilient rubber pad 7 is adjustably mounted on the stud 5 for bearing on the windscreen. The strain on the frame 4 due to the overhanging weight of the unit is thereby relieved.
