Abstract

687,092. Shirt collars; cuffs. DONNER, I. Feb. 6, 1951 [Feb. 5, 1951], No. 3802/52. Divided out of 2763/51 and Addition to 687,071. Class 141. Garments as described and claimed in the parent Specification are modified in that the attaching border on one of the separable garment parts e.g. a neckband, is formed of two plies of material 10, Figs. 4, 5, and a lining ply 11 the upper edge of each facing ply being turned over slightly (one over the upper edge of the lining ply) and stitched to provide finished off edges and the two plies and the lining ply being stitched together at 14 at a distance from the finished off edges to provide a channel 15, the attaching border thus being three plies thick both at and below the channel. The stitching 16 provides the side limbs at the ends of the channel. The detachable collar may be secured in the channel by a line of stitching or as described in Specification 503,354.
