686,884. Dispensing-stoppers. SAVARY, A. Feb. 27, 1951 [Feb. 28, 1950], No. 4777/51. Class 125(iii) Liquids are dispensed from a container, e.g. in drops, by means of a closure comprising a single member of flexible material having a deformable wall and a tubular discharge duct which is closed by a closure connected to the single member by a flexible connection. In Fig. 1, a screw part 2 is fitted with a resilient top 3 having an outlet duct or nipple 5, the tip 6 of which can be cut off and closed by a peg 7 attached to the top 3 by a flexible member 8. Alternatively, a closure cap may be attached to the member 8. The top 3 may fit outside the part 2 or the parts 2, 3 may be integral. The peg 7 or the closure cap and the nipple 5 may be formed with appropriate enlarged parts or constrictions to improve the seal. As shown in Fig. 4, a resilient part 12 is secured to a container by a crimped foil capsule 13 and carries the nipple 5. As shown in Fig. 5, the resilient part 3 is secured to the container, by an encircling ring 14.
