Abstract
686,682. Lavatory basins; chamber-pots. CRAFT, S. Dec. 5, 1950 [Dec. 5, 1949], No. 31154/49. Class 26 A collapsable lavatory basin or chamber pot has an annular wall comprising a serieof superimposed collapsable chambers which inter-communicate for simultaneous inflation and deflation whereby the said basin or pot can be brought to an erect position or to a substantially flat collapsed position, said basin or pot having a liquid-tight cup-like containing space encompassed by said wall. In the form shown, the wall consists of four annular air chambers 10 each formed by two flat rings 11, 12, the meeting edges of the rings of adjacent chambers being bonded at ribs 14. The latter are apertured at 15, and a lining 17 may be secured at 18 to the uppermost ring with its base 19 close to the rigid or flexible base 16 of the basin or pot, An inflation nozzle with a valve or plug is provided, and an inflatable handle, connected to the upper and lower rings, may be fitted. An expandable liner, e.g. of waterproof paper, may be inserted into the basin or pot before use. Air or warm water may be used as the inflating fluid.
