685,546. Road sweeping machines. LEWIN ROAD SWEEPERS, Ltd. Jan. 19, 1951 [Jan. 19, 1950], No. 1407/50. Class 107 [Also in Groups XXX and XXXII] A refuse collecting vehicle (especially a road sweeping machine), of the kind having a refuse receiving compartment (27) and a refuse conveying means (16) is provided with a compartment 15 for the driver, and the refuse receiving compartment behind the driving compartment is separated therefrom by a bulkhead 47 having an opening 25 for the refuse, and transparent panels 63, to enable the driver to see when the refuse compartment is full. A light 64 may be provided to assist vision. The vehicle is unloaded through the pivoted door shown in broken lines in its open position.
