Abstract
684,383. Electro-medical apparatus. PIAR, E. A. March 27, 1951, No. 7083/51. Class 81 (ii). A medical electrode includes a substantially rectangular metallic body 50, Fig. 8, having, on its lower face, a longitudinal slot in which a plurality of spaced metallic blade members and a pair of guide members are mounted. The guide members are secured to the metallic block 50 by screws 55, 56. The blade members, having edges 76 and being spaced by members 75, are mounted between the guide members and held in position by a screw 65. The edges 76 of the blades are equally spaced 10-15 thousandths o an inch apart and project be yond the edges of the guide members 0.5-1 thousandths of an inch. The metallic block is mounted on a conducting handle 41 and connected with a cabinet (not shown) contain ing apparatus for providing an electric current of ¢-2 milli amperes from a rectifier or a battery. An indifferent elec trode is provided for connec tion with the patient. In an alternative construction (Fig 5) the electrode secured to the handle 41 is in the form of a semicylindrical block 80 or which cutting edges 82 are formed 15 thousandths of an inch apart. The electrode i: used to remove hard tissue from the scalp in the cure of baldness.
