Abstract

684,290. Tampon introducers. TAMPAX, Inc. Jan. 9, 1951 [Sept. 9, 1950], No. 644/51. Class 81 (ii). In a tampon applicator of the type comprising inner and outer telescoped tubes, a portion of the wall of the outer tube is deformed to provide a finger abutment and a portion of the wall of the inner tube is similarly deformed in the corresponding area to provide releasable interlocking between the tubes. In one form small depressions 5 are formed in the wall 2 of the outer tube and the wall 4 of the inner tube is similarly shaped to lock the two tubes. A relatively sharp abutment 6 at the lower edge of each depression prevents the inner tube being withdrawn accidentally. In an alternative form the deformations are directed outwardly.
