A passenger motor vehicle having at least three sitting positions side by side is constructed so that the ratio of the " standing area," that is (the product of the wheel base R and the track S), to the " traffic area," that is (the product of the vehicle length L and its breadth B), is less than 0.4. In Fig. 2 this ratio is represented by the area of the closely shaded portion to the area of the widely shaded whole. Suppression of oscillations during travel due to the road surface may be obtained if the track and width of the vehicle are in the same relation to each other as the wheel base to the length, that is a ratio of about 0.6.
