A motor vehicle has a dashboard 1 adjacent the windshield 6 and a shaped container 13 is secured to the dashboard and extends substantially over the whole width of the car. Protective cushions 18, 19 are also provided and where there are projections in the top surface of the dashboard to accommodate speedometers &c. the base 14 of the container may be apertured to straddle the projection.
