Abstract

682,729. Hand bags. MAYER (LONDON), Ltd., L. S. Aug. 30, 1951 [Aug. 30. 1950]. No. 21397/50. Class 133 A device for strengthening a hand bag and attaching a handle or carrying strap comprises two rigid members 2 secured to the central partition 6 of the bag at each end and a rod, bar or tube 3 secured to the top edge of the partition and to the rigid members with each end projecting for connection of the handle &c. 9. The partition 6 and the edges of the gussets 7 of the end walls of the bag are inserted in lengths of C-section tube 2 and secured therein and the rod 3 is passed through holes in the tubes and in the ends of the handle and secured by nuts 5. The usual covering of the bag may line the part 2 or they may be polished or ornamented and secured to the outside of the cover.
