Abstract

Thiosemicarbazones are dissolved in water-miscible aliphatic amides containing if necessary some water. Solutions are described of the thiosemicarbazones derived from the 4-acetylamino-, 4-amino-, 4-propionylamino-, 4-benzoyl-amino-, 4-methoxy-, 4-allyloxy-, anisal-4-amino-, and phosphoric acid derivative of 4-amino-benzaldehydes (see Specification 680,142). The solubilities of the latter compounds in formamide and methylacetamide/water are given. Mixtures of the above solvents with glycols and glycol ethers as in Specification 681,905 may be used.ALSO:Solutions of a number of thiosemicarbazones of benzaldehyde derivatives in water-miscible amides of aliphatic acids such as formamide and methylacetamide with water where necessary and mixed if desired, with glycols or glycol ethers (see Specification 681,905) are made for therapeutic use. Substituents in the benzaldehyde residue include amino substituted amino, alkoxy, and a phosphoric acid compound (see Specification 680,142, [Group IV (b)].
