Class 25 A wind-directed chimney cowl has at one side an air inlet d and a baffle c which deflects upwardly the entering air and at the other side a vane l by which the air inlet is kept facing the wind. The inlet d is formed by cutting the wall of the cowl at b and depressing the wall below the cut, the upper part of the inlet and baffle so formed being covered by an enclosing band e. The cowl is rotatably supported by a boss g carried by radial arms f and fitting on a spindle h, the latter being mounted on a stirrup i secured to a base ring j which fits into the upper end of the chimney.
