Abstract

A pesticidal composition is prepared by mixing one or more isomers of hexachlorocyclohexane with one or more fusible materials solid at room temperature and having a lower vapour pressure than the hexachlorocyclohexane to form a homogeneous melt which is then hardened and powdered. Suitable fusible solids are colophonium malinate resins, modified phenol-formaldehyde resins, coumarone-indene resins, pitch, sugars, and sulphur. The composition while still in the liquid state may be poured on to a solid powder such as fullers earth, kaolin, talc or marl. Specification 592,670 is referred to in the Provisional Specification.
