Abstract

A synthetic resinous cation-exchange material is prepared by polymerizing a mixture of a monovinyl aryl compound, particularly styrene, and a polyvinyl aryl compound, particularly divinyl benzene, containing not more than 5 per cent by weight of the polyvinyl aryl compound, sulphonating the polymer and charging with ammonium ions.
