Abstract
680,064. Fluid-pressure servomotor-control systems ; float-actuated valves. DIKKERS & CO., N.V., G. Sept. 8, 1950, No. 22201/50. Class 135. A float-controlled valve comprises an energy storing and releasing spring device tensioned by the float and actuating the valve on expansion, a float lever attached to a rockshaft from either side of which extends an abutment arm, and a double-armed lever intermediate the abutment arms connected at each end to a spring of the spring device and operatively connected to the valve. A mixture of oil and gas is supplied at 2, Fig. 1, to a tank 1, the gas under pressure being led away via the outlet 3 and the oil passing through a conduit controlled by a valve 23, actuated by a piston 22 exposed to atmosphere at 24 or to the gas pressure in pipe 21 according to the position of a valve 20 operated through a tumbler spring device 7 by a float 4. As the float rises or falls its arm 5, Fig. 2, rotates a shaft 6 carrying a fork element 8, 8a which moves a lever 11, 12, journaled on the shaft 6 against a spring 17 at each end of the lever so that as the lever passes its deadcentre position it snaps over. A roller 13 on the lever then moves in a slot 26 in the stem 19, 27 of the valve 20 and shifts this valve. The discharge valve may be opened by the oil pressure or by the gas pressure acting on its lower side.
