Abstract

679,550. Saw-tooth generating circuits. ELECTRIC & MUSICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. July 17, 1950 [Aug. 4, 1949], No. 20281/49. Class 40 (vi). A linear saw-tooth wave is produced at the anode of a valve from a non-linear wave fed to the cathode by providing a time constant circuit in a negative feed-back path between the anode and control grid. In the circuit shown the non-linear wave is generated by charging a capacitor 1 and discharging it rapidly through a valve 4 and the wave is fed to the cathode of a valve 8 through a valve 6. The negative feedback path between the anode and grid of valve 8 includes a circuit 10, 11, preferably having a time constant equal to that of capacitor 1 and resistor 2. In an alternative circuit (Fig. 2, not shown) an output coil is provided in the anode circuit of valve 8 and a cathode follower is provided between the anode and the input of the feed-back capacitor 10.
