A heat insulation covering, e.g. for a hot water cylinder or cistern, consists of a number of separate sections each with a V- shaped end 1 and a parallel-sided part 2, the bottoms being formed with a loop 5 so that a wire spring 6, wire or cord, threaded through all the loops, may have its two ends connected together, as by hook and eye, to hold the sections in contact with the insulated body. The sections 1, 2 enclose insulating material and one sewing 7 may support this material and secure the looped-up edge of the section. Hooks 3 are attached to the V-shaped ends 1 so that when the ends are drawn together over the top of the cylinder they may be hooked on to a wire spring 4 around the top.
