Abstract
677,236. Electric follow-up systems. BENDIX AVIATION CORPORATION. Nov. 22, 1948. [Jan. 2, 1948] No. 30271/48. Class 40 (i). In a positional follow-up system hunting of the servomotor is prevented by the provision of both voltage and current feed back injected in series with the error voltage to the servoamplifier input. As shown, angular displacement of the control member 11 operates through the Selsyn transmitter 13 and receiver 19 to produce an error signal in the rotor winding 21 which after amplification at 24 is fed to the variable phase 30 of the two-phase induction motor 12 driving the rotor 21 and a follow-up pointer 36. A portion of the voltage output of the amplifier output is fed back negatively to the input by a transformer 28 and in addition the voltage drop across a choke 41, proportional to the amplifier current output, is fed back directly in series with the transformer secondary 27.
