Abstract

675,892. Weighing-apparatus. SARTORIUS-WERKE AKT.-GES. March 15, 1950 [Aug. 18, 1949], No. 6504/50. Class 143, The casing for a precision balance comprises a cylindrical casing 6 set on a cylindrical base 1 and having a hemispherical top 7. Transparent doors 8, 9 which are secured to members 10 engaging a fixed guide 12, are arranged to produce a quadrant aperture for access to the pan 3, the movable joint therebetween being closed by a rubber sealing member 13. Electro-static charges generated by movement of the doors are neutralized by radioactive substances within the casing and/or by applying a coating of electrically conducting material on the doors. A partition 5 divides the weighing chamber from the weight supporting pan which is loaded by means (not shown) external to the casing. Specification 675,896 is referred to.
