Abstract
674,453. Preparing specimens for microscopic examination. TECHNICON CHEMICAL CO., Inc. April 28, 1950, No. 10552/50. Class 97 (i). A liquid for treating histological tissue in the processing thereof for microscopic examination comprises as active ingredient diethylene glycol monoethyl ether acetate in the presence of an alcohol such as isopropanol, ethyl or methyl alcohol which is a liquid at room temperature. The proportions may be of from 2 to 6 parts by volume of the alcohol to about 6 parts by volume of diethylene glycol monoethyl ether acetate and the liquid may be used in the removal of paraffin from the cut specimens.
