Abstract
671,819. Watches. MONTRES ROLFX SOC. ANON. Aug. 9, 1948 [Aug. 13, 1947], No. 20997/48. Class 139 A control mechanism for timepieces comprises two concentric metallic members movable with respect to one another and forming together a tight joint, one of said members being provided with at least one tubular portion, the extremity of which is thinner than the remainder of said portion and the inner and outer faces of the thinner part being cylindrical, this part being radially and resiliently pressed against the other member to form the said tight joint. In one example, as applied to a watch, Fig. 1, a push button 1 is forced on a sleeve 2 movable axially between two positions on a tubular member 3 integral with the watch case. A spring 6 surrounding the stem 5 urges a tube 4 against the bottom face of the button 1. The joint between the member 3 and the tube 4 is made tight by a metallic member 7 which is fixed to the member 3 and which has a thin extension 7<SP>2</SP> which, by its own elasticity, radially and resiliently presses against the tube 4. In another example, Fig. 2, the button 8 is screwed on the stem 9 to which is fixed a metallic member 11, the extremity 11<SP>1</SP> of which radially and resiliently presses against the inside of the tubular 10 integral with the watch case. The member 7 or 11 may be pressed against the member 4 or 10 respectively by a coiled spring, Fig. 3 (not shown), instead of by its own elasticity.
