Abstract

671,604. Suction cleaner nozzles pipe joints. ELECTROLUX, Ltd. April 28, 1950 [June 4, 1949], No. 10491/50. Classes 8 (i) and 99 (i) A suction cleaner nozzle comprises a hollow body 10, Fig. 3, containing the suction opening 12 and a passage 22 having a curved longitudinal axis along which an attachment member 11 is displaceable, the body 10 and member 11 being so formed as to lie relatively movable in two different planes from one position wherein the longitudinal axes of the attachment member 11 and of the suction opening 12 make an angle of substantially 180 degrees, and to another position wherein the angle is less than 90 degrees. The curved passage 22 has end abutments 23, 24 confining an attachment flange 25 at the limits of rocking displacement, and the flange 25 is guided by flange ribs 27, Fig. 2, and recesses 29 engaging corresponding recesses 26 and ribs 28 of the passage 22. Rotation of the attachment 11 I relatively to the body 10 in the two planes at right angles to the rocking plane is effected by terminating the ribs 28 and corresponding recesses 29 short of the abutment 24. The member 11 may be locked in any of four positions in the planes of rotation by engagement of the flange ribs 27 with two extra passage recesses of depth greater than the thickness of the flange 25. The suction opening 12 has a rim of bristles 21.
