To the former is secured a centre section 121 of wedge shape which may be pushed forwards to press apart side sections 122 (not shown) connected to the section 121 by links 125, 126. The heel plate has pivoted thereto a counterblock 137 through the upper part of which passes a screw 138, operable by a knob 141, and pivotally connected at its forward end to the section 121, by means of which the tree may be extended.
