Abstract
670,612. Step-by-step conveyers. WRIGHT'S BISCUITS, Ltd. March 21, 1949. [Feb. 2, 1949] No. 4387/49. Divided out of 670,611, [Group XVII]. Class 78 (i). [Also in Group XVII] Apparatus for conveying biscuits from a point A, at which they are fed continuously by stacker 10, to a point B at which they are to be discharged intermittently, includes a flexible belt 13 which bulges to allow for the intermittent stoppages. As shown, stacker 10 feeds biscuits down plate 11 on to belt 13 along which they are fed either by the biscuits behind or by side screws or by a pair of endless belts 17 to the point B whence they are discharged intermittently as by the apparatus of Specification 670,611, [Group XVII], into tins. Belt 13 is secured at 14 and passes freely between guide 15 and plate 11 (preferably over rollers) and is tensioned by weights on platform 16. As the intermittent discharge of the biscuits into tins continues, the belt is permitted by the said weights to bulge in and out.
