Abstract

670,290. Soap holders. TAUTZ, F. H. Aug. 1, 1950. [May 9, 1949] No. 12320/49. Class 131. A soap holder comprises a container formed by a fixed member on which a movable member is mounted, so that its weight causes it to close the lower end of the fixed member, and so as to be movable, by hand, to allow the soap to drop into the user's hand. As shown, the fixed member comprises a back plate 1, which forms an apertured fixing plate 2, the back 5 of the container, and struts 6 spacing the container from the supporting wall, and a bent plate 9, which forms the front 10 and sides 12 of the container. Lugs 15 of the movablc member 14 are pivoted at 16 to the sides 12 so that when finger pressure is applied to the tab 20, teeth 19 and 8 intermesh and the soap drops into the operator's hand. The device may be made of metal or of plastic.
