Abstract

669,412. Automatic exchange systems. AUTOMATIC TELEPHONE & ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. March 9, 1950 [March 22, 1949], No. 7714/49. Class 40 (iv). [Also in Group XL (b)] In an A.C. impulse-responding circuit, the retarding effect produced by a rectifier network MRA on the release of the impulsing relay J is compensated by energizing an opposed winding of J prior to its release. The first impulse produces sluggish operation of relay J due to the current drain to the equipment ahead. Thus, in a modification, during each operation of the impulsing relay after the first its second winding is shunted so causing its operating time to be constant irrespective of the particular impulse to which it is responding.
