Abstract

551,092. Selective signalling. SIEMENS BROS., & CO., Ltd., and DURKIN, E. W Oct. 14, 1941, No. 13206. [Class 40 (i)] [Also in Group XXXIX] In a direct current signalling system, the insertion of a rectifier in the line circuit at the sending end causes the release of a relay at the receiving end, whereupon a further relay controlled thereby operates to annul the signal by reversing the connections of the line relay. The Figure shows an arrangement for obtaining synchronous operation of two switches DML, DMA, the line circuit including opposed rectifiers MRA, MRB which are brought in alternately by relay S. In the position shown, relays T, A are up while S, R are back. If the marking is transferred to a later contact of DML, T falls back, S operates, A falls back and DMA steps. Reversing relay R now energizes, A re-operates in series with L and DML steps, whereupon S falls back and the action is repeated until the change-over of S is prevented by the operation of T. Other applications are concerned with automatic telephone exchange systems (see Group XXXIX).
