Abstract

669,376. Flyers for textile speed frames. REYNOLDS, W. G. Sept. 5, 1949 [July 21, 1949], No. 22977/49. Class 120(ii) The presser foot of a flyer has two plates 42, 48 disposed in different planes and each provided with a guide hole 43, 45, one hole having a wall portion for the roving to travel against during the upstroke of winding and the other hole having a wall portion for the roving to travel against on the downstroke. The presser foot 40, is preferably integral with the presser arm 33 and may comprise a flat strip folded upon itself in either a horizontal or a vertical plane. Threading slots 44, 46 may be either horizontal or vertical and the holes 43, 45 preferably are not in alignment.
