Abstract

669,275. Venetian blinds. AKTIESELSKABET STANSO. Oct. 2, 1950, No. 24058/50. Class 20(iii) Relates to means for. equalizing the lengths of the two ends 13. 13a of the slattilting cord of a venetian blind. The shaft 3 carrying the cord pulley 11 is slidable relatively to the worm 4 which is in constant mesh with the worm wheel 2 connected to the slats. A spring 7 tends to move the shaft to the left to engage teeth 5 thereon with corresponding teeth 6 in the worm, but when a bush 8 (through a projection 12 of which the cord ends pass) is rotated about the shaft 3 to a position wherein the projection 12 is not vertically below the axis of the shaft. a stationary pin 10 engaging a cam track 14 on the bush forces the shaft to the right to the disengaged position shown. The cord ends can now be adjusted without rotating the worm and worm wheel. When, however, the bush is rotated so that the projection 12 is vertically below the shaft 3, the pin 10 and cam track 14 cause the bush to move to the left and the spring 7 causes the shaft 3 to follow up this movement to couple the shaft to the worm.
