668,831. Connection fittings; testing and calibrating meters and instruments. FERRARIO, M., and BARBERI, G. Aug. 13, 1948 [Aug. 13, 1947], No. 21370/48. Classes 37 and 38 (i). A terminal unit for an electricity supply meter to permit the insertion of a test meter 6 in the current circuit, consists of two conducting parts 1, 2 insulated from each other and provided with terminals 4, 5 for the testmeter current coil 6 and an adjustable interconnector 3 to make and break the contact between them. One embodiment, Fig. 2, comprises two conducting strips 1, 2, the strip 1 having a cable thimble for a supply lead, and being insulated from the strip 2 through an aperture 18 of which a screw 3 passes with clearance and into the strip 1. Connection between the strips can be made or broken by tightening or loosening the screw 3. In a modification for a single-phase system only, the unit comprises strips 9, 10 and a cross-piece 8 insulated from the strip 10, and connection between it and the cross-piece is made or broken by the large-headed screw 3. The connections to the current coil of the test meter 16 are made at sockets 11, 12 on the strips 9, 10 and the test-meter voltage coil is connected to the socket 13 in a terminal strip 14 connected to the current coil of the supply meter.
