Abstract

1278616 Testing installed electricity supply meters HELIOWATT WERKE ELEKTRIZITATS GmbH 23 Oct 1969 [23 Oct 1968] 52072/69 Heading G1U In a self contained apparatus for performing no-load and starting tests on an installed electricity supply meter, the apparatus is held in engagement with the supply meter terminal block and the rotor of the meter is observed whilst a load resistor connected between one terminal of the meter voltage coil Lu and the meter current coil Li is adjusted. The apparatus is held in engagement with the terminal block by screw 8 which engages in threaded hole 82 in the block and the electrical connections between the three spring loaded probes 1-3 of the apparatus and the terminals 11, 21, 31 can be checked by switch 4 and lamps 41, 42. With the load on the supply disconnected a mark on the meter rotor is positioned at the meter window by operating switch 6 which in opposite extreme positions directs current from the secondary of transformer 7 in opposite directions through current coil Li. The starting behaviour of the meter can then be checked by observation of the mark on the disc as different loads are switched into circuit by switch 51 and variable resister 52. A voltmeter may be provided on the apparatus for measuring the voltage of supply under the different load conditions.
