Abstract

667,456. Centrifugal-machines: SPENCER, J. P. May 3, 1950 [May 13, 1949; Dec. 28, 1949]. Nos. 12866/49 and 33114/49. Class 23 [Also in Group VIII] The drum 27 of a hydro-extractor is rotated within a volute shaped casing 29' having a tangential outlet 34 which is as wide as the perforated width of the drum and which contracts gradually into a discharge aperture. Rinse is introduced through a nozzle 39 into the interior of the rotating drum. In a modification the outlet follows the curvature of the casing to the bottom of the casing where it bends to discharge at one end of the casing.
