An electric heating cushion comprises a sheet of conducting or semi-conducting plastic material 12, e.g. a vinyl plastic, insulated by plastic sheets 13, 15, one of which is provided with a plurality of projecting ridges 1 ... 3. The ridges may be hollow as at 6, 7 and contain electric conductors, thermostats or couplings for the vinyl heating element 12. The sheets 15, 12, and 13 are welded together.
