Classes 108(ii) and 108(iii) The invention relates to a resilient suspension of the kind described in Specification 621,638 which comprises a system of inextensible links by which a member is supported from a supporting member, the links being substantially in line under normal load conditions and their pivotal connections including resilient bushes which are then concentic with the pivotal axes of the links and stressed in torsion, whereas deflection to either side of the normal load position is resisted with increasing stiffness due to the bushes becoming eccentric as compressive loads on the bushes develop. According to the invention, each link is in the form of parallel, spaced, link bars 18 hinged to diametrically opposite points 20 on outer metal sleeves 15 of the bushes a rigid member 21 being hinged to diagonally opposite points 20. The member 21 is preferably so connected as to be in tension, and includes a turn-buckle 22 by means of which the bushes may be preloaded and the links set in-line under static-load conditions. Each link 18 is of channel section with a central web 19 and its ends embrace the outside of spaced lugs 17 which are integral with respective circumferential ribs 16 on the sleeves 15. A common bolt 20' secures each end of the member 21 (which fits between the lugs 17), and an end of the respective link 18, to the lugs 17. Specification 665,282 also is referred to.
