Abstract

662,811. Dolls. CASCELLOID, Ltd., and HOUGHTON, L. R. June 12, 1950 [June 29, 1949], No. 17211/49. Class 132 (iii). [Also in Group XXV] In a doll or the like, a joint for attaching a limb to the body of the doll comprises, in the construction shown in Figs. 2, 3, a pair of stiff disc or like members 5, 14, located in and behind the skin of the limb and body respectively, a fastening stem 6 which passes through the discs, and a spring clip 12 which engages in a groove 10 of the stem. The assembly is thus held securely together but relative rotation between the limb and body is permitted. The disc 5 is permanently secured to the stem 6 and thin layers of rubberized textile gauze 16, 17 cover the openings 4 and 18 in the limb and body which may be made of moulded or dipped rubber latex skin. Alternatively the body may be in the form of a textile bag and have a draw tape for securing the head. Kapok or like stuffing may be used.
