The phase adjustment between a pair of spaced gears 1, 2 oppositely rotating in the same plane is obtained by a pair of intermeshing gears 3, 4 supported on swinging links 7, 8, 9 and meshing with the gears 1, 2 respectively. the links 7, 8, 9 may be swung about the gears 1; 2 to effect this phase adjustment or alternatively the axes of the gears 1, 2 may be swung about the gears 3, 4.
