661,530. Elastic yarns. UNITED STATES RUBBER CO. Sept. 29, 1949 [Nov. 18, 1948], No. 25009/49. Drawings to Specification. Class 120(iii). [Also in Group VIII] An elastic yarn capable of stretching at least 50 per cent of its relaxed length comprises a core of vulcanized rubber and a coating formed of a non-tacky resinous film directly engaging the rubber thread and holding it stretched at least 25 per cent of its unstretched length when the elastic yarn is in a relaxed normal condition. Preferably the coating is formed of nylon and the ratio of the weight of the core to that of the coating is approximately 2 to 1.
