660,871. Air inflation plant. TURNER, W. June 20, 1950 [June 20, 1949], No. 16388/49. Class 116 [Also in Group XXVIII] An air inflation plant in which the pulley for the gauge pipe line is carried on a mounting separate from and located below the mounting carrying the pulley for the supply pipe line, the mountings being slidably movable over the column independently of each other whereby compensation for the changing length of the gauge pipe line within the tower is provided for separately from that for the supply pipe line. A fixed tower 2 has a rotatable head 3 mounted on ball 1 bearings 3a and cont a i n s a pressure gauge 4. A vertical column 5 within the tower has a rotatable member 6. Flexible pipe lines from a supply and gauge 4 pass over pairs of pulleys mounted on opposite sides of the member 6 and round pulleys connected to two lower members 13, 14, mounted to move axially along the column 5. One pipe line is connected to the gauge 4, the lines pass out through an opening 18. The pipe lines near the face ends are connected by a valve-carrying member 21 from which a single pipe line 22 extends to the object to be inflated. The gauge dial 25 is illuminated by an electric lamp 24. The flexible pipe line from the supply source is the most liable to shortening and passes around the upper of the two slidable members.
