Abstract

660,149. Porous materials. MAY, P. (Deutsche Eisenwerke Akt.-Ges.). Nov. 19, 1948, No. 30176/48. Class 70 A porous structural material or concrete aggregate is formed by sintering in a plant of suction type, e.g. a Dwight-Lloyd band, a mixture of granular material, such as granulated slag, brick dust, foundry refuse, blast-furnace flue dust, or other dust on slime containing metal oxides, and waste material containing up to 30 per cent fuel, e.g. waste from coal-washing plants, lignite waste, or boiler ash. The fuel-containing waste is preferably of a grain size up to 15 mm. Structural elements are formed from mixtures of the product with cement, hydraulic lime, gypsum, bitumen, tar, pitch, sulphite liquor or cellulose.
