659,891. Making cutting-tools. BIRMING- HAM SMALL ARMS CO., Ltd., OLIVER, D. A., and WOLFE, K. J. B. Jan. 1, 1949, No. 7. [Class 83 (ii)] Cutting-tools, such as twist drills, reamers, milling cutters or lathe turning tools are provided with an electrodeposited layer of one or more of the metals indium, lead, cadmium, copper, silver and tin after a surface roughening operation. The roughening may be by shotblasting or sand blasting &c. or by a chemical or electrochemical process which may be followed by a case-hardening treatment before the layer is deposited.
