658,883. Stoppers. NADAI, A. Feb. 28, 1949, No. 5391. Convention date, June 24, 1948. [Class 125(iii)] A connection between a screw cap and the body it closes for maintaining the cap tied to the body when unscrewed travels during screwing and unscrewing either along the external thread of the body or longitudinally or helically along the inside of the cap, the connection being always concealed and between the top of the thread of the body and the bottom of the cap when the latter is unscrewed. Fig. 1 shows the connection as a protuberance 4 projecting from a ring 3 rotatable at the top of the thread on the container 2. The protuberance engages a longitudinal slot 5 in the cap 1 and when the latter is fully unscrewed it can be swung 180 degrees about the protuberance, a slot in the wall of the cap at the bottom of slot 5 being provided to clear the neck between the protuberance and the ring 3. In Fig. 7 a stationary projection 12 at the top of the thread on the container engages a helical groove (distinct from the internal screw thread) around the inside of the cap. In Fig. 9 the connecting member 16 is carried by a ring 14 carried by the cap and having a pin 15 traversing a deepened thread 13 on the container.
