658,446. Stud-and-socket fastenings. TINNERMAN PRODUCTS, Inc. May 11, 1949, No. 12546. Convention date, Oct. 15, 1948. [Class 44] A sheet metal clip 10 for securing a moulding strip A to an apertured support comprises a pair of spaced head portions 12 joined by walls 16 to an intermediate body portion 15 and a strip 22 united to the body portion and bent to form a depending resilient stud 20. Flanged ribs 1 on the moulding strip A form channels 3 to receive the head portions 12, diverging arms 18 struck out from the wall portions 16 engaging the faces 4 of the ribs to retain the clip in position. The stud is formed with a narrow nose 20 diverging sides 23, and shoulders 25 adapted to engage behind the edge of an aperture in the support. The free end of the strip 22 is formed as a hook 27 overlying the portion 15 and sliding thereon as the stud is compressed for insertion into the aperture.
