Abstract

658,120. Stairs. ATELIERS DE BOUCHOUT ET THIRION REUNIS. March 14, 1949, No. 6941. [Class 20(iv)] Each step of a stair comprises a. tread A, a nose B, and a riser C, the free ends of the nose and riser being inclined, each to the same angle, and relatively movable whereby by sliding one relatively to the other the height of the step can be varied, e.g. from 190 m.m. to 170 m.m. the depth of the tread being simultaneously varied inversely, e.g. from 190 m.m. to 230 m.m. A whole number of equal steps may thus be provided between any two floors whatever the height between the floors.
